Max Bill

Born in Switzerland, Max Bill studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. While studying under Bauhaus founders Walter Gropius, Paul Klee, and Wassily Kandinsky, he also inherited the philosophies of architects Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. Max Bill, a great designer and creative artist, was known as "the last master of the Bauhaus" and displayed innate talent in a wide range of fields as a painter, architect, sculptor, teacher, and designer. In 1993, he visited Japan and received the Praemium Imperiale. His works, characterized by clear design and harmony based on meticulous calculation, continue to fascinate many fans to this day.
