BENRUS

About BENRUS
BENRUS is a brand established in New York in 1921 by Benjamin Lazrus and his two brothers. Its name was derived from the first syllable of his given name and the last syllable of his family name.
In the 1930s, the brand gained popularity by selling dress watches, and in the 1960s, the Ultra-Deep, a waterproof watch with an inner bezel.
BENRUS is renowned for its military watches
BENRUS became widely known during the Vietnam War. As a manufacturer of military watches, it supplied timepieces to the US Army and Navy. Subsequently, the US military entered into a "MIL-W-50717" military contract with BENRUS to produce "TYPE-I" and "TYPE-II" watches, which are considered the finest US military diver's watches ever manufactured.
Faithfully reissued models
Although these watches were originally produced for military use and were not available for general sale, they have now been faithfully reissued based on "MIL-W-50717."
The TYPE-I features a simple design for quick readability, intended for special agents and special forces, while the TYPE-II has a dial design with both 12-hour and 24-hour displays for soldiers and operators in the field. While the original watches were mechanical, the reissued models use Swiss quartz movements to reduce weight.
